You could try going to the blogs page and commenting on other peoples' newsposts and hope they comment back.

You could start posting in the forums.
If you have any flash knowledge, you could make a flash gallery of your art and submit it, since you don't have to be approved to submit to the flash portal.
That would also get your newsposts on the front page whenever you post them, since you would be considered an artist after submitting to the portal.
You could review more flash, since that's actually the reason I'm here posting this now, you reviewed my flash and I decided to click your name. Although I think I originally found you on the blogs page.
